i can't keep my word saying that i would be staying low profile during this week, due to my translation work. i can't stay way from my blog. i enjoy writing my head out here. i just can't. i need to write. about anything.
it's my rest day from running. so i had plenty of time to do other things and did them in a slow manner. which is very rare to me. i prefer endorphin-kickstarting day. i mostly get it on the day i run. but no endorphin once in a while should be okay. my legs are screaming again. since coming back from langkawi, i ran 16k in 2 days and my legs are back to soreness.
i sat writing, catching up in my journal this morning. i don't ramble in it everyday but do it on a weekly basis. mostly, i spill my thoughts in my blogs. they are my creative energy outlet and my comfort zone. i can't imagine myself not writing. not running. not taking photos. not travelling. not reading. and not drinking tea. they are die-hard habits. those things keep me sane and keep my head straight. what's keeping you sane?
been reading a new book called 'a spot of bother' by mark hoddon. i picked up the book at a second-hand bookshop in one of the beach in langkawi. while we were driving to underwater world, i spotted the bookshop through the rain on the roadside. after parking the car, i walked back to that shop. at first i didn't recognized the author until i read the back cover. he is the one who wrote 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time'. the book was recommended by dave. he said it was one of the great books he ever read so i gave it a try. i was in awe while and after reading it. it's kind of a weird book, out of my genre. it's quite widely well-known and was prized. so knowing who wrote 'a spot of bother', i bought it without hesitation, without reading further. i was finished 'girl who kicked the hornet's nest' on my first day in langkawi. i was sad that the book had ended and i had to shelve this trilogy. stacking away 'girl', i was in high need of a new book and 'spot' came at the right time. after i started reading the first few chapters, it kept me quiet and finally hooked. i like his style of writing; bare, straight, full of surprises, bitter jokes and make sense.
what's the book you've been reading? feel free to share and recommend.. i like trying new books and new authors..
Really inspiring pictures today-- I read your blog in the morning or early afternoon and a lot of times the pics get me energized for the day.
