my weekend was both quiet and eventful. dad was sick and we had to take him to see the doctor on saturday morning. my brother drove for us. mom and i accompanied dad to the clinic and to the lab center. it took us a few hours before getting dad back home again. after knowing what kind of sickness dad is holding, i called my sis to let her know. all of us have been worried about his health lately. he was strong and never fell seriously sick before but this year is not a healthy year for him. he seems worried himself too but we try cheer him up and be there for him. my sis-in-law told me this morning that he was getting much better today, didn't need a crutch when walking. i called my sis to let her know quite often as i didn't want her to worry while she was away.. when she was around, she was the one who picked doctors for dad and drove him to see them. now it's brother's and my turn.. mom took night shift taking care of him.. after getting back from the clinic, we got dad to eat, take medicine and sleep. then i got back to the house that i live (on the weekend) with sis, her family and mom. dad lives in another house with bro and his family. we are not far from one another so it's easy to go back and forth. i like the one that i am staying bc it's far from the main road and not too noisy. it's in the middle of somewhere. but this weekend it was doubly quiet bc i was there alone, day and night. sis was in bkk, phun and his dad was in satun while sis was away. i was the one who held the fort.. but when it was time to eat, i rode my bike to brother's house. there were plenty of foods there.. and there was none in my house. i don't cook..
sunday morning, after going out running for an hour, py came to see me. we played like we were at the same age. we painted the cement floor with colorful chalks. after an hour, she didn't want to stop. i had to try my best to convince her to take a bath bc all of her face was stained with different colors of chalks. dirty little face.. while i managed to convince her to let go of the chalks, i had to convince her to leave the bath tub when seeing that she was in there quite a long time.. then i dressed her with phun's clothes.. convinced her to leave with her dad for an afternoon nap.. then i had the house to myself.. i started cleaning it, arranged the books which seemed to be everywhere. i gathered them in one place (my bedroom), swept clean the shelves, mopped the floor until it glittered..
then, i boiled water for an afternoon tea, resumed reading the book i started on saturday. it was about india. i managed to finish it before i left for hadyai, so i could leave it for my sis to read when she gets back. it was a blissful and quiet sunday afternoon. i read, napped and ate.. heaven..
before driving back to hadyai, i drove to check on dad and had my early dinner there. next week, it's going to be busy again when everyone is back home.. we can't wait to have phun back home.. auntie misses you little boy..
Sorry to hear about your dad-- you're in my thoughts.
